THE DUEL DISCUSSION

In this episode of Wuxia Weekend we talk about the film the Duel (2000), starring Andy Lau, Nick Cheung, Vicky Zhao, Kristy Yeung and Ekin Cheng. Based on the Gu Long story from the Lu Xiaofeng series, Before and After the Duel, it is a wuxia mystery set against the backdrop of a looming duel between two great swordsman. There is a lot of comedy in this one, but also surprisingly moving moments.

Check out Distressor's "Just Breathe", they generously allowed us to use their music in our introduction.

STREET TRASH (1987)

I talk with Joel about the indescribable film, Street Trash. This 1987 film, directed by J. Michael Muro, started its own subgenre called Melt Movies. Correction: I mention a movie called "Valley of the Bamboo Dolls", I was incorrect, the title is "The Bamboo House of Dolls"

I talk with Adam and Joel about my new game Strange Tales of Songling. It is an RPG inspired by Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. You can find the PDF here: STRANGE TALES OF SONGLING
